Traditionally, women in India have shied away from engineering and related fields. However recent trends suggest that more and more females are participating in the growing technology sector in India. Although this new interest open doors for new opportunities for females as well as Indian economy, research on women PhD's in engineering in India still remains scarce whereas on the contrary underrepresentation of women in the sciences and engineering has been examined in greater depth in many other countries. Since the period of doctoral education crucially clashes with women's age of marriage and family in India, special provisions such as part-time PhD's, more flexibility in terms of time period for completion, government scholarships and funding etc may be useful in increasing their participation. Bringing in all these opportunities for women can help to develop skills that allow them to make decisions and influence community change.This paper brings out the problems faced by the women in engineering and research fields to pursue their PhD's and presents various motivational schemes for empowerment of women doctorates who are pursuing PhD's in India.

Objective: Design of circular ring patch antenna in Ka-band is described and simulated for receiving the dual polarised beacon continuously from GSAT - 14. Method: Circular ring’s intrinsic geometry selected in this work leads to circular polarization and high radiation efficiency so making it suitable for implementing on array and as well as for practical application where low losses are salient features. Findings: The proposed antenna has shown reliable performance which is measured in terms of Half Power Beam width (HPBW), Side Lobe Level (SLL), cross polarization, gain bandwidth and AR bandwidth at resonant frequency of 20.2 GHz. A truncation in the circle of the circular patch is made in order to meet these performance characteristics of the antenna. Applications/Improvements: The proposed antenna exhibits circular polarisation for any polarised incident wave which is desired in most of the communication applications. The importance of research in Engineering Education has grown to levels of sophistication. Undergraduate research is a pedagogical tool that helps channelize the energy and enthusiasm of students into conceptual-based education, thereby igniting their minds to explore with curiosity of the world around them. The word "research" emits a groan from those who simply have no idea as to where to begin literally. This is a common response from most of us, especially in case of an engineering student. The fact is many of us procrastinate when it comes to doing research because we just don't know how to do it. Although there is no quick fix when it comes to doing research, there are some practical approaches that make doing research a lot easier.
The main objective to write this paper is to investigate students' perception/attitude towards research. What are the techno factors that influence the cognizance.This paper focuses on the fundamentals of getting started with research, the students' perception towards the research in their engineering education, the importance of its role in engineering education, the support of the students by the institution and as well as government carries out research activities in engineering education and the aspects to enhance engineering education without boundaries.

Arthur Combs says that "Perhaps the most important single cause of a person's success or failure educationally has to do with the question of what he believes about himself." The belief of a teacher will change the nation. It begins with an overview of traditional research on teaching in general, followed by a discussion of teacher cognition under which teacher beliefs are subsumed. The general chalk and talk does not make students involve into practical applications or research activities, the belief of teacher about research should change and pedagogies to be implemented in the class room to create interest among students about how to start research from their undergraduate life. Now a days the research on teaching and learning has shifted from a unidirectional emphasis on correlates of observable teacher behaviour with student Achievement to a focus on teachers' thinking, beliefs, planning and decision-making processes.
This paper explains the change in the teacher thinking and role of a teacher in the implementation of research in the higher educational institutions and impact on the students and their involvement in the research activities.
